AMA Triangle board members serve one-year terms, from July to the following June. Each Winter the AMA Triangle membership elects a President, President-Elect, COO, and CFO. Vice Presidents are appointed by the President.
As Senior Customer Reference Manager at Red Hat, Michael looks after the strategy behind all of the content that comes out of the Innovators in the Open customer storytelling series. He is a proud NC State Alum (where he served on the board of the NCSU AMA under Ed Weems). You might find Michael around some tailgates if you happen to be at Carter Finley or Lenovo Center. He has a daughter, Evelyn, a son William, and wife, Jocelyn, who is a product manager for Lenovo. He received his MBA from Elon University.
Gene Pinder is and experienced B2B and B2C marketing and communications professional skilled in multiple disciplines. Strong background in healthcare, technology, tourism, edutech, market research, supply chain, public health, and non-profit sectors. Former VP and CMO of two startups. Director of Marketing for several companies and non-profits. Owned and operated a market research company (qualitative and quantitative). Former broadcast journalist and PR professional. Master’s degree from Northwestern University. President, vice-president and board member of a number of non-profit organizations. Have been President, VP of Membership and Board Member for the Chapter.
Jennifer Gilmore is the director of strategic marketing and communication for NC State’s Campus Enterprises, the university’s division for retail and hospitality. She joined NC State in 2008 supporting NC State Dining but was tapped to build a marketing and communications department to support the newly formed auxiliary services division – Campus Enterprises – in 2010. This division includes dining, catering, two student centers, the campus bookstore, ID card office, golf course, and print shop. She leads a team of three project managers, two graphic designers and several student employees.
Before joining NC State, Jennifer worked primarily in healthcare public relations and as a freelance writer. She holds a B.A. in communication with a concentration in public relations from NC State University.

Ms. Newell embodies a results-oriented approach, combining creativity and analytical insight to meet the diverse needs of various industry clients. In her role as VP of diversity, equity, and inclusion, Ms. Newell uses her skills to help AMA and its partners flourish.
Sarah Lien Finnerty is Senior Client Director at Kelaca, a recruiting firm redefining the hiring experience through a culture-first, AI-powered, and human-driven approach. Kelaca helps organizations navigate a shifting talent landscape with smarter solutions and deeper relationships. Sarah brings a strong background in recruitment, business development, and client strategy, with a B.A. in Communication Arts/Theatre from Austin College.
Known for her leadership, networking savvy, and strategic marketing skills, Sarah is passionate about helping professionals and organizations thrive. She also serves as the founding chapter leader of Magnet Triangle, a regional networking group that connects business leaders across industries through intentional, community-driven events.
By day, John-Paul is a lawyer with Schick Law PC, which focuses on business law and commercial real estate. He reads and drafts a lot of contracts and helps clients buy, sell, lease and operate businesses and commercial properties. John-Paul is also a life coach with Schick Life & Leadership Coaching. He partners with people who are committed to creating their destiny. By night, John-Paul lives in Durham with his wife, Stacy, and their two sons, Xander and Sebastian. His degree in philosophy is from Davidson College, his law degree is from UNC-Chapel Hill, and his formal coach training was through Accomplishment Coaching. Born and raised in Venezuela, John-Paul is fluent in Spanish. And he is an avid rock fan, with an emphasis on 1980’s metal. Lisa Snedeker is a communications expert specializing in creating high-quality multimedia content for the web, social media, and print. A magazine, newspaper and wire service veteran, she excels at media relations and communications as a result of working for more than three decades as a print and broadcast journalist. Currently serving as the communications and marketing director for Campbell University’s Raleigh Campus and the School of Law, she has served as a higher-ed administrator for nearly 20 years and has taught communications, journalism, broadcasting, French and English as a Second Language (ESL) at several universities and community colleges. Her specialties include social media, writing, editing, media relations, communications, and marketing. She lives in Cary with her husband of 23 years and they are the proud parents of twin sons who live in Raleigh.
Nidhi spent 15 years in tech PR—across agencies, startups, and fast-growing companies—before moving to North Carolina and welcoming her second child. That transition inspired her to build her own business and step into the work she loves most: helping families plan their financial futures with clarity and confidence. Today, as a financial advisor and VP of Membership for Triangle AMA, Nidhi blends her communication background with her passion for community-building.
