Volunteer Opportunities + Interest Form

AMA Triangle is always excited for our members to increase their involvement in AMA by volunteering for our chapter. We have volunteer roles that span all aspects of the chapter, with multiple levels of involvement (one-off, a few hours a month, 1-2 hours a week, etc.). We’re always updating our list of open opportunities, and encourage you to browse the options below and fill out our volunteer interest form to start the conversation with our Director of Volunteers. Current Opportunities

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a member of the Executive Board and reports directly to the President. This position is tasked with overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the chapter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule, plan, and attend monthly board meetings
    • Venue coordination, RSVP management, scheduling meetings and tracking meeting minutes
  • Volunteer onboarding and management
    • Creates and manages the onboarding process for new volunteers.
    • Trains and delegates onboarding processes to board members
    • Track and support all volunteers and they come on/fall off the board
    • Manages volunteer permissions, email creation and board roster
  • Manage and submits monthly reporting to AMA National in partnership with AMA Triangle President
  • Manages volunteer experience for all AMA Triangle volunteers
    • Seeks testimonials and feedback from volunteers on their experiences through surveys and 1:1s
    • Shares opportunities for improvements and volunteer feedback with the board
    • Work with AMA Triangle President to send cards/emails recognizing special days/events for volunteers + members
  • Manage organization of chapter documents through Google Drive or equivalent platform
  • Help AMA Triangle President manage Info@ inbox
  • Works in conjunction with the President-Elect to ensure the election cycle is completed on time and follows the election guidelines.
  • Work with AMA Triangle President on maintaining board engagement through creative ideas, games, outings etc.
  • Manages the Director of Operations and assigns duties/responsibilities as needed

The Length of Appointment: The COO role is a minimum of one board year with training with current COO starting ASAP.

Time Commitment: 20 hours per month

Qualifications: Must be a member of the Triangle chapter of the American Marketing Association.

Support: Training for this position will be provided.

Benefits: This role is a great introduction to serving on a nonprofit board and provides an opportunity to impact chapter operations.

Communications is the hub of the AMA Triangle Chapter – nearly everything the chapter does go through communications. It is vital that the Communications Team provides consistency, accountability, and cohesiveness!

The focus of this role is to help manage the AMA member and non-member lists, segmenting, and upkeep.

Duties include:

  • Review calls for data management and updates via BaseCamp (our project communications platform).
  • Use and help update and maintain our current lists via spreadsheets, Nimble (CRM – Will train you), and email systems (we use iContact) is a plus but not required).
  • Generate reports.
  • Monitor AMA Chapter Social Media (LinkedIn) for member and non-member jobs, roles, and overall engagement with AMA Triangle.
