Community Relations Event Coordinator 

AMA’s Community Relations team is responsible for three of the chapter’s most important and valued programs: Mentorship, Collegiate Relations, and AMA Impact. This role will assist with creating, planning and executing Community Relations events, including the mentorship match event, mentorship graduation, collegiate job fair, collegiate supporting events, and the AMA Impact volunteer week. 

Core Responsibilities: 

  • In alignment with the VPs of Community Relations and director, identifies potential dates, locations, and sponsors for Community Relations events. Also works with Community Relations Sponsorship Coordinator to check for existing opportunities to leverage sponsor facilities to host events.
  • Provides the director and the Community Relations Communications Coordinator with accurate event details, including any parking or transportation options available to attendees. Includes room features and dimensions, including capacity.
  • Aligns with the Community Relations Program Coordinator if needed to ensure that program details are worked into the event as needed.
  • Along with the director, coordinates food and beverage, entertainment, and A/V needs for the event. Tracks all details for the event, including pricing, vendor details, and any additional available options
  • Assist with supervising events day-of to include welcoming guests, set-up and teardown, problem solving, and communication with vendor/venue staff
  • Attend monthly Community Relations team meetings (1 hr) and additional meeting requests when needed
  • Administrative duties as assigned

Commitment:

●    July 2024 – June 2025

●    Serves 1-2 hours per week on average 

Qualifications:

●    Active AMA Triangle member (required) 

●    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 

●    Ability to work cross-functionally, coordinating across a large, dynamic organization with multiple board members and committees
