In today’s data-driven marketing world, intelligence from your
competitors can be crucial for a successful campaign. This is where
SEMRush comes to mind. SEMRush provides toolkits for your marketing
go-tos, such as content marketing, search engine optimization, and
most importantly, competitor analysis, to name a few.
Quick How-To:
Are you curious to know what is driving traffic to your competitors?
Here’s how to discover their best keywords with SEMRush:
I would recommend using the Keyword Gap tool to compare Google
rankings against the rankings of competitors and find the leading
keyword opportunities.
Enter your domain and the domains of up to four other competitors.
Select the types of keywords you would like to analyze. Then select
the target country and click “compare.”
Scroll down to the keyword comparison table to see how your site goes
up against the competition.
Select the “Weak Tab” to highlight keywords where your website ranks
lower than all of the listed competitors. These are terms where
potential customers are more likely to discover your rivals first.
Consider optimizing your content to boost your visibility for these
keywords and capture more of that search traffic.
Select the “Missing” tab to uncover keywords that every competitor
ranks for except your site. Then, check the “Untapped” tab to find
keywords where at least one competitor has visibility, but you
currently don’t. Both tabs can reveal high-potential, relevant
keywords your content may be overlooking, but offer great
opportunities to expand your reach.
The “Strong” tab highlights keywords where your site outranks all
competitors, while the “Unique” tab shows terms only your site ranks for
for in the comparison. These keywords give you a competitive edge. To
maximize that advantage, consider further optimizing your content to
climb even higher in search results.
