As the VP of Employer Services for the AMA Triangle, I feel a duty to serve both talented marketers that are looking for employment and also the great companies that choose to call the Triangle home.
I have over 12 years of experience in recruiting from my days working with Kelly Services, a Fortune 500 staffing company. The last 10 years, I have been working for iContact, an email marketing company. It makes for a good mix of HR and marketing experience. Here is a video from last year that talks about why I think the AMA Triangle is great.
There are a few ways that the Employment Services Group serves the Triangle area:
- The Monthly Transitions Mastermind Group: This is a group that was formed over four years ago to help marketers in transition find their next marketing job by networking and learning from the speaker that is brought in to share information on how to be a better marketer, use LinkedIn more effectively, or go over resume tips. We even have one or two resume review panels each year. These events are free to attend and we have received a lot of great feedback that these meetings offer. Keep track of when the meeting happens by visiting our events page.
- The AMA Triangle Job Board (always on): If you are looking for a marketing job, you can upload your resume to the job board for free. If you work for a company that is looking for a rock star marketing employee, you can list your positions and search for resumes on the job board. The fees are low and the results are satisfying! Head over and check out the job board now.
- Annual AMA Triangle Job Fair on 10/24: Where do top Triangle companies and talented marketers go to meet? The AMA Triangle Job Fair of course. For the last four years, we have been playing matchmaker for both employers and job seekers at the Brier Creek Country Club in Raleigh, NC. It includes breakfast, networking, employer spotlights, and the most important part, the meet and greet session where great conversations are had about marketing and employment! If you are interested in learning more about the job fair on 10/24 as an attendee, exhibitor or sponsor, click here. Our Director of Community Relations, Jasmine Brown-Matthews found the job she has now in the last job fair! I will let her tell you about it in this video! (AND SPOTS ARE GOING FAST SO REGISTER NOW!)
My goal as the VP of Employment services is to continue to provide value to the marketing community through sharing experiences, information and tools to serve job seekers and companies in the Triangle area.
I am not able to do this alone. The Director of The Transitions Mastermind, Howard Lippin, is busy behind the scenes working diligently on coordinating our events and supplying our communications team with great content about what we do. What can we be doing for you? Let us know and hope to see you at one of our events!
